DAY 2 - Guided tour to Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda
The Emerald Coast was discovered by the Prince Karim Aga Khan. It is famous for its partucular architecture: low buildings emerged into the green surroundings, gardens, many summer-flowering plants etc.
Walk in the famous Piazzetta where all the best boutiques of the world are situated and along the port admiring the luxury yachts.
In Porto Cervo you can admire the church Stella Maris - a very particular building with inetresting and precious details: El Greco’s painting, the organ from the 16th century, doors and pendants in rough iron, altar in local granite rock. There is a beautiful view over the Yacht Club.
The second stop is at San Pantaleo. It is probably the only small village that has not been changed by the tourism development. There is still an original tiny square, the small low buildings and the church from the 19th century – all of them made in the local granite.
DAY 3 - La Maddalena Archipelago National park
The full day sailing excursion by private yacht to the La Maddalena Archipelago is an opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful parts of the Mediterranean sea. The whole area is protected since National Protected Area has been established in 1994.
The archipelago, located between the northern Sardinia and the southern Corsica.
On Budelli island there is a famous Pink beach – it’s not possible to visit it anymore since it was close for the tourists in 1991 in order to preserve the pink color of the sand.
Anyway, there are many wonderful bays and beaches where to stop for a swim and sunbath. Do not miss the places like Cala Corsara, Spiaggia del Cavaliere, Cala Granara or Santa Maria island.
Every island is different, on every island there are many beautiful small beaches and hidden bays. The light blue color of the sea is mixed with a light beige color of the granite rocks that are typical for the whole area. Then stop for lunch at La Scogliera restaurant at Caprera island.
The only inhabited center is La Maddalena situated in the homonymous island, which is the biggest one.
On the way back stop in the town visit nice narrow streets and the main square with a church, do some shopping, get some souvenirs, have an ice cream or a coffee.
Restaurant La Scogliera
The restaurant is proposed for lunch during the trip to the La Maddalena archipelago.
A breath-taking view, the professional staff, the constant attention to the clients: all this in a context of a wonderful landscape, generous in colors, aromas and shapes.
The choice of sea as well as land products and wines is accurate and based on the research of the best local producers.
DAY 4 - Monte Altura in Palau, archaeology in Arzachena and wine tasting
A glimpse to the history of Sardinia. Drive to Palau and stop at the panoramic point Monte Altura - a military base built between 1887 and 1889. For its very strategic position it was an important protective fortress for the north coast of Sardinia and the whole archipelago of La Maddalena. It is the highest point of the area so you can enjoy the breathtaking view from up there.
Then pass Arzachena and close to stop at nuraghe La Prisgiona dating back to the Bronze Age.
Nuraghes are the only proves we have about the nuragic people. It is a tower building made of roughly worked boulders. Over the centuries this kind of fortress became still more and more elaborated. Some additional huts and spaces added to the basic tower-shaped building changed its external aspect.
The most elaborated nuraghes were built in the period of the biggest development. Various serious studies have been made on the magnetic energy present inside the nuraghes.
The last stop, before having a local dinner, is at the wine cellar Surrau, just few minutes by car from km far from Arzachena.
Surrau winery dominates over 40 hectares of farmlands mostly cultivated with vineyards. The original project was a winery as a place of work where the grapes are transformed into wine through the process visible to all – the glass walls both exalt the landscape when looking out and illustrate the winemaking activities when looking in.
To end the day taste a deliciou typically local dinner (meat menu) in one of the best agriturismo.
